Florida electrician license reciprocity with California: California does not provide an electrical-contractor reciprocity or trade-exam-waiver route for a Florida license.

CSLB lists Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada and North Carolina as reciprocal contractor states, subject to classification-specific mappings. Florida is not listed. The applicant must satisfy California qualification, examination, bonding and licensing requirements before contracting.

How to use this route

1. Review the California C-10 Electrical classification and experience requirements.
2. Document qualifying journey-level or contractor experience.
3. Submit the California original contractor-license application.
4. Complete the law-and-business and C-10 trade examinations unless CSLB grants another lawful waiver, then satisfy bond and issuance requirements.

Conditions and limitations

California does not list Florida in its contractor reciprocity program. A Florida electrical contractor must qualify for a new California C-10 license through the standard application process; the Florida license does not authorize California work or create a trade-exam waiver.

Reciprocity never authorizes work before the destination authority issues the required license. Business registration, insurance, local permits and continuing education remain separate.
