Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to tradelicenseatlas.com and the services delivered through this website. It does not govern government agencies, licensing boards, testing providers, advertisers or other websites linked from our pages.

Information we may collect

Information you provide

If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you submit. Please do not send sensitive identification, financial, health or license-account information.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting, security, analytics and advertising services may process technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, requested URL, date and time, approximate location, cookie or device identifiers, interactions and diagnostic events. Server logs may record requests to protect and operate the site.

License Finder selections

Selections made in the License Finder or reciprocity tool are used to return the requested page or result. These tools are not designed to collect names, government identifiers or application documents.

Why we use information

  • Operate, secure, diagnose and improve the website.
  • Respond to messages, corrections and support requests.
  • Measure readership and understand which content is useful.
  • Prevent spam, abuse, fraud and technical attacks.
  • Display, measure and manage advertising where enabled.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Legal bases where applicable

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, processing may rely on consent for optional analytics or advertising storage, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the site, steps taken in response to your request, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent through the available privacy controls without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Google Analytics

We may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic and site performance. Google Analytics can process device and browser information, page activity, approximate location and identifiers according to the configuration and consent signals in use. Google explains how it collects and processes information in its Privacy Policy.

Advertising and Google services

We may use Google AdSense or other advertising services. Third parties may place and read cookies in your browser or use web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers as a result of serving and measuring ads. Ads may be contextual or, where permitted and consented to, personalized using information about activity and interests.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies and related storage may support security and core functions, remember choices, measure traffic and deliver advertising. Availability and duration vary by provider, browser, consent choice and service configuration. Read the Cookie Policy for categories and controls.

When information may be shared

Information may be processed by vendors that provide hosting, security, analytics, advertising, email delivery and technical support. These providers process data under their own terms or on our behalf. We may also disclose information when legally required, to protect rights and security, or in connection with a legitimate transfer of the website or its assets.

We do not sell personal information for money. Certain advertising or analytics activity may be treated as a “sale,” “sharing” or targeted advertising under some U.S. state laws even when no money changes hands. Where required, applicable privacy and consent controls will be provided.

International processing

The site serves an international audience and uses providers that may process information in countries other than the visitor’s own. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Providers may use contractual and other safeguards where required.

Retention

Contact messages are retained only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain an editorial record, prevent abuse or satisfy legal obligations. Technical logs, analytics and advertising information follow the retention settings and policies of the relevant system. We may retain aggregated or de-identified information that no longer identifies an individual.

Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent or information about categories of data and recipients. Rights can be subject to verification and legal exceptions.

You can use available consent controls, change browser cookie settings and use provider opt-out tools. To make a privacy request, use the contact form and select “Privacy request.” Do not include identity documents unless we specifically request a secure verification method.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect the site and information. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Trade License Atlas is intended for adults researching occupational and business licensing. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly request personal information from them. Contact us if you believe a child has submitted personal information.
